Reliability

Reliability and service levels

FinaQuotes targets 99.9 % uptime for its WebSocket and REST endpoints. Every asset class is served from multiple independent data sources with automatic fallback, every instrument is watched for silence, and alerts go to the engineer on duty. This page describes what we measure, how maintenance and incidents are handled, what support looks like and what the service does not cover.

The target

Our uptime target is 99.9 % for the WebSocket stream and the REST API. It applies to the endpoints themselves: whether a client can connect, authenticate and receive data.

Markets have their own hours. A stock that is not trading because its exchange is closed is not downtime. Neither is an instrument whose market is halted upstream: the last known price stays available.

How we reach it

  • Redundant sources. Each asset class has more than one independent source. If the primary source goes quiet, the feed switches to a fallback automatically.
  • Silence monitoring. We know how often each instrument normally updates in its trading hours. When one stops updating longer than it should, that is an alert, not a log line.
  • One schema on every source. Data from a fallback source is normalized into the same schema as the primary, so a switch does not change symbols, fields or candle boundaries.
  • Alerts to a person. Alerts reach the engineer on duty, who decides whether it is a market event or a fault on our side.
  • Isolated channels. Free widgets, Pro widgets and the data feed run on separate channels. A traffic spike on public widgets does not take capacity from feed clients.
  • TLS everywhere. Connections are served over wss and https only. Security details are on the security page.

What we measure

  • Endpoint availability. Whether WebSocket accepts connections and REST answers requests.
  • Tick freshness per instrument. The age of the last update for every instrument, compared with what is normal for its market at that hour.
  • Delivery latency. Time from receiving a tick to sending it to clients. In normal operation it is a fraction of a second.

Real time and delayed data

Reliability also means being clear about how fresh the data is. US stocks, crypto, forex, metals, commodities, indices and bonds are delivered in real time. International stocks arrive with a delay of about 15 minutes.

Free widgets show exchange-traded instruments with a 15 minute delay. Widgets redraw every 5 seconds on Pro and every 15 seconds on the free plan; that is the interface refresh rate, not the age of the data. The feed itself delivers each tick within a fraction of a second after we receive it.

Planned maintenance

Planned work is announced to clients in advance and scheduled for periods of low market activity.

Incidents

If an incident affects feed clients, we notify them through the agreed channel, keep them updated until it is resolved and then share what happened, why, and what we changed so it does not happen again.

Support

We reply to support requests within one business day. Feed clients get an agreed support channel set up during onboarding. For everything else, use the contact form. When reporting a problem, include the instrument, the time in UTC and what you saw: it shortens the investigation.

What is included and what is not

A short, honest list of where the service ends.

Included Not included
99.9 % uptime target for WebSocket and REST Guarantees beyond the 99.9 % target or service credits not written into your agreement
Multiple sources per asset class with automatic fallback Prices for order execution: the data is not an executable quote
Silence monitoring and alerts for every instrument Quotes outside an instrument's trading hours
Advance notice of planned maintenance Investment advice or trading signals of any kind
Incident notice and a written root cause for feed clients Disclosure of upstream data sources
Support reply within one business day Round-the-clock phone support
