Market data coverage: stocks, forex, crypto and four more asset classes
FinaQuotes covers seven asset classes in one real-time market data feed: stocks, forex, crypto, metals, commodities, indices and bonds. Every instrument arrives in the same normalized schema, with two-sided bid/ask on forex, spot metals and US stocks and last price on crypto, indices, commodities and bonds, candles on nine timeframes in UTC, and history over REST. Below is what each class includes and how it is quoted.
Mode describes the feed itself. On the free website widgets, stocks, indices, commodities and bonds are shown with a 15-minute delay, while crypto, forex and metals stay real time.
Stocks
The stocks class covers exchange-listed shares, starting with S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 constituents in the US and extending to selected listings on major non-US exchanges. US stocks stream in real time; non-US stocks arrive with a delay of about 15 minutes, which is the usual condition for redistributing that exchange data. US stocks carry a level 1 bid/ask plus the last trade price; non-US stocks carry the last price. Candles are built only inside the trading hours of the listing exchange and follow its daylight saving schedule, so an hourly candle never stretches across the overnight gap.
Forex covers major and cross currency pairs. Every tick carries both a bid and an ask, so a platform can show the spread and calculate a mid price without guessing. The currency market trades around the clock from the Sunday open to the Friday close, and candles follow the same week. Timestamps are in UTC, which keeps daily candles aligned whatever the trader's time zone.
Metals come in two forms. Spot gold, silver, platinum and palladium are quoted against the US dollar and the euro with bid and ask, exactly like currency pairs, which makes them easy to place next to forex in one quote table. Exchange-listed metal funds are available as well and carry the last trade price during exchange hours. Both forms share the symbol format and candle rules of the rest of the feed.
Crypto covers the top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, quoted against USDT. The market never closes, so ticks and candles run 24/7, weekends included, and a daily candle opens and closes at 00:00 UTC. Prices are last trade prices. Crypto is one of the classes that stays real time on the free website widgets as well as in the feed.
Commodities cover energy, agricultural and industrial benchmarks, such as WTI and Brent crude oil, natural gas, copper, corn and coffee, together with exchange-listed commodity funds. Prices are last trade prices and follow the trading hours of each market. Commodities use the same symbol format and candle timeframes as every other class, so adding them to a platform takes no separate integration.
Indices cover leading equity and currency benchmarks, including the S&P 500, the Nasdaq-100 and the US Dollar Index. They are delivered as tracker-based or calculated values rather than the official level published by the index provider. That suits charts, market overview widgets and dashboards that need the direction of the market in real time. The data policy describes the quote type of every asset class and its limitations.
Bonds are represented by exchange-listed bond funds that track short-term US Treasury bills and other fixed-income benchmarks. They are priced at the last trade during US exchange hours and give a platform or a market overview page a fixed-income reference next to equities and commodities. Candles and history follow the same rules as US stocks.
The instrument catalogue lists every symbol in the feed with its name, asset class and venue, and marks the instruments that are live. The same list is available over REST together with instrument logos, so a platform can build its own symbol search on top of it. Missing an instrument your clients trade? Send the symbol through the access form and we will check it.
The FinaQuotes stocks class is built around exchange-listed shares: S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 constituents in the US, plus selected listings on major non-US exchanges. OTC securities are not part of the standard catalogue. If you need a specific name, send the symbol and we will confirm whether it can be added.
Are index values real or tracker-based?
Index instruments in the FinaQuotes feed are tracker-based or calculated values, not the official level published by the index provider. They follow the benchmark closely enough for charts, market overview widgets and dashboards, but they are not a licensed index feed. The data policy describes the quote type of every asset class and its limitations.
How fast can a new instrument be added?
A new instrument is usually added to the FinaQuotes feed within a few business days after we confirm it is available from our sources. Send the symbol and exchange through the access form. Once it is live, it appears in the instrument catalogue and over the same WebSocket and REST interfaces as everything else.
